  • King Creek - Main Flow: 11/10/2018

Lower half of pitch wet. Middle has thin areas, so selective screw placement or stubbies need. Overall good climbing.

Other ice in the area allowed for some mixed climbing on thin pillars, etc., we had a few near misses with falling rock (and had to do some "cleaning").

    Good trail in.

Climbs all in good shape. Some brittle bulges, and some drippy lines but mostly dry.

Main flow already has the lower rap anchor buried in ice but the newer anchor is still easily accessed.

Kings Creek climbs are all in great shape. Some snow on the routes from recent snowfall. Good trail in. Thanks to the Yamnuska Guides for making space for us, appreciate it.

        Mostly still in good shape.

*Magic Touch, not too fat making the rock traverse a little longer. The left variation isn't formed.
*Main Flow, still well formed. The lower bolted anchor is well buried in ice but the newer chain anchor is well accessible.
*Cave Flows, the right is not formed and the left is huge. Some bleaching from heat and some snice. Right side is nice and steep and has a groove that is fun. Left side is less sustained and looked like better ice.
*Gully Flow, is quite wide at the top making for a steeper line on the right. Left side of the climb has seen some water flow making snicey ice but the right side of the groove is good solid ice with a bit of a bluey green colour.

Approach is easy enough but some postholing and collapsing snow bridges was encountered. The climbs are definitely still worth a visit if you're looking for ice still.
